Welcome on the first web-based teaching platform of endomicroscopy.
Endomicroscopy is a newly developed endoscopic modality, which allows in vivo
microscopy of the mucosal layer in about 1000-times magnification with
subcellular resolution during ongoing gastrointestinal endoscopy.
The Goal of this web platform is to offer you an overview about the technique of
endomicroscopy and the clinical data so far , but most important you will be
guided through an interactive training programme based on various real clinical
cases.
After the training session you will understand the basic technical principles of
endomicroscopy and you will be able to judge endomicroscopic images and to
recognise different mucosal abnormalities.
The interactive training cases of endomicroscopy were developed by the leading
experts in this field at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany
with the aid of the PENTAX ISC-1000 endomicroscopy system and EC-3870CIFK
endomicroscope.
